Troubleshooting
The stay price shown is wrong: how do you find the error?
Season priority, check-out night not counted, length-of-stay discount, mandatory services, extra-guest surcharge: how to check a stay price with the simulator.
A stay price that looks wrong is almost always the logical result of a forgotten rule: two overlapping seasons with an unexpected priority, the check-out night not being charged, a length-of-stay discount kicking in, mandatory services added automatically, or an extra-guest surcharge. GDA Kraft Booking calculates the price night by night and shows the line-by-line breakdown: the "Quote simulator" in Kraft Console › "Rates" lets you track down the source of the difference in a few minutes.
Step 1: reproduce the price in the simulator
- Open Kraft Console (/gestion/ on your site) › "Rates" and choose the accommodation.
- In the "Quote simulator", enter exactly the arrival and departure dates and the number of adults and children from the request (and the unit if there are several).
- Read the breakdown: price of each night and season applied, length-of-stay discount, extra-guest supplements, mandatory fees, taxes, deposit and balance. The simulator does not check availability and takes neither optional services nor promo codes into account.
- Compare it line by line with the price you expected.
The calculation order is explained in Seasons and rates.
Step 2: identify the rule at fault
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| One night is at the wrong rate | Two seasons overlap and the wrong one has the highest priority | Adjust the priority or the dates of the seasons |
| The base rate applies in high season | Seasons do not repeat from one year to the next: the season covers another year, or it is limited to certain days of the week | Create the season for the right year (or use "Roll over to" the following year in Kraft Console › "Rates") and check its days |
| A night seems to be “missing” | The check-out night is not counted: Monday to Saturday is 5 nights | None: this is normal behaviour |
| The price for 7 nights is lower than 7 × the nightly price | A length-of-stay discount tier applies from 7 nights | Check the tiers in Kraft Booking › Promotions |
| An unexpected discount | A length-of-stay discount applies from a certain number of nights | Check the threshold and the percentage in Kraft Booking › Promotions |
| The total is higher than expected | Mandatory services added automatically, or a surcharge above the number of guests included | Check the "Services" tab and the guests included in the rate plan |
| The amount to pay is lower than the total | Only the deposit is requested now | Normal: the balance will be charged before arrival |
| A “Service fee” line appears | Service fee on online payment: 0.9%, reduced to 0.45% until 30 June 2027 | Normal, see How much does an online payment cost? |
| A tax line is added | The tourist tax from the "Services" tab, or the "Tax applied to the stay (%)" under Settings › "General settings" | Check the amount, "Exempt children" and the night cap |
Example: overlapping seasons
Fictitious example: a “Summer” season from 1 July to 31 August at €150 per night, priority 1, and a “Festival” season from 10 to 14 July at €190, also priority 1. With equal priority, the most recently created season wins: if “Summer” was created after “Festival”, the nights of 10 and 11 July are calculated at €150 instead of €190. Giving “Festival” priority 2 fixes the calculation, whatever the creation order: €150 + €190 + €190 = €530 for the nights of 9, 10 and 11 July.
Step 3: the simulator price is right, but not the one on the site
- Page cache: your caching plugin or your host is serving an old version of the page, particularly for “from” prices. Clear the cache after changing rates.
- Wrong accommodation: the module, block or widget on the page is linked to a different accommodation. Check its settings in your page builder.
- Promo code: a code entered by the guest changes the total; check its validity period and conditions.
- Display language or currency format: the format of amounts follows the page language (see Multilingual sites), without changing the price.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the check-out night not charged?
A stay is counted in nights: from Monday to Saturday, the guest sleeps five nights. The departure day remains available for a new arrival.
Which season applies when two seasons overlap?
The one with the highest priority. Use this rule to place a one-off event inside a broader season.
Is the service fee part of my price?
No. It is added to the price of the stay on a separate line, paid by the guest, and only concerns online payments.
How can I avoid these errors in future?
Test three or four typical stays in the simulator after every season change: a weekend, a week, a stay spanning two seasons and a stay during an event.
