Payments and commission
How much does an online payment cost? A worked example
Breakdown of a Kraft Pay payment: a 0.45% service fee until 30 June 2027 (0.9% afterwards) paid by the guest, plus Stripe's processing fees.
A payment collected online with GDA Kraft Booking involves two separate costs: the platform's service fee, 0.9%, reduced to 0.45% until 30 June 2027, shown to and paid by the payer on a “Service fee” line; and Stripe's processing fees, deducted from what you receive according to Stripe's pricing. There is no subscription and no fixed monthly fee. This article breaks down a typical real payment, charge by charge.
What are the two costs of an online payment?
| Cost | Who pays it | Amount | Where to see it |
|---|---|---|---|
| GDA Kraft Booking service fee | The payer, on a separate line | 0.45% of the amount until 30 June 2027, then 0.9% | Payment page, invoice, “Revenue and fees” section |
| Stripe processing fees | You, deducted from your payout | Depends on the card, the country and Stripe's pricing | Stripe Dashboard and Stripe's pricing |
The service fee is the income of Global Digital Agency, publisher of the free plugin. The processing fees pay Stripe, the payment institution that executes the transaction; they would exist with any card payment solution. We do not quote Stripe rates here: they vary and are published by Stripe itself.
Example: a €1,000 stay with a 30% deposit
Fictional example: a one-week stay invoiced at €1,000 (excluding tourist tax), a 30% deposit at booking, the balance charged automatically before arrival, during the launch offer.
| Charge | Stay amount | Service fee (0.45%) | Total paid by the guest |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deposit | €300.00 | €1.35 | €301.35 |
| Balance | €700.00 | €3.15 | €703.15 |
| Total | €1,000.00 | €4.50 | €1,004.50 |
What you receive: the €1,000 for the stay, minus Stripe's processing fees on each charge. The €4.50 service fee is routed automatically to the platform at the time of payment, through the Stripe Connect mechanism: you are never sent an invoice.
And after 30 June 2027?
At the standard 0.9% rate, the same stay would carry a €2.70 fee on the deposit and €6.30 on the balance, €9.00 in total, still paid by the payer. The terms of the offer are detailed in The 0.45% launch offer.
Example: a €60 appointment
Fictional example: a €60 session paid in full online during the launch offer.
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Service | €60.00 |
| Service fee (0.45%) | €0.27 |
| Total paid by the client | €60.27 |
You receive €60 minus Stripe's processing fees.
What costs nothing?
- Offline payments (bank transfer, cheque, cash) recorded manually: no service fee.
- Bookings imported via iCal from Airbnb, Booking.com or Vrbo: they do not go through Kraft Pay.
- The plugin itself: it is free and downloaded from your Kraft GDA owner account; it includes everything (payments, appointments, emails, multilingual), with no add-on to install. The free Kraft GDA account, required for online payment, asks for no credit card at sign-up. No subscription, no paid Pro version.

What happens in the event of a refund?
The service fee is refunded pro rata to the amount returned. In the €1,000 stay example, a €500 refund on the stay comes with a €2.25 refund of the service fee. On Stripe's side, Stripe's documentation states that the processing fees for the original transaction are not refunded. See Refund a booking.
For how the service fee works in general, see The GDA Kraft Booking service fee and the Pricing page.
Frequently asked questions
Who pays the service fee, me or the guest?
The payer. It appears on a “Service fee” line on the payment page and is added to the price of the stay or service.
Why don't you give Stripe's rate?
Because it depends on the card, the country and the pricing in force, which only Stripe publishes and updates. See stripe.com/pricing and your Stripe Dashboard.
Is there a subscription on top of the service fee?
No. GDA Kraft Booking has no subscription and no paid Pro version: the service fee, expressed as a percentage of the amount collected online, is the only charge taken from your payments.
Where can I see the fee details for each payment?
In the “Revenue and fees” section of your Kraft GDA owner account, which lists each transaction with its amount, fee and any refund, and, on the WordPress side, in each booking file (amount of service fees included) or with "Export payments" in Kraft Booking › Bookings.
