Which payment methods should you offer for a vacation rental?

Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay online through Kraft Pay; bank transfer, cheque, French holiday vouchers or cash recorded manually, with no service fee.

With GDA Kraft Booking, you can take payments online by card, Apple Pay and Google Pay through Kraft Pay (Stripe), and accept offline a bank transfer, a cheque, French holiday vouchers (chèques-vacances) or cash, which you record yourself in the booking. Online payments carry a service fee of 0.9%, reduced to 0.45% until 30 June 2027, on top of Stripe's fees; offline payments carry none. The right choice depends on when payment is made, who your guests are and how much time you want to spend on follow-up.

Which online payment methods are available?

Online payment requires a free Kraft GDA account (no bank card is required to sign up) and a connected site; the plugin downloaded from your owner account includes everything, with no add-on to install. On activation, you create your own Stripe account through the Kraft Pay journey, or connect to Stripe during that journey (see Enable Stripe payments). As soon as your payments are active, the Stripe-hosted payment page offers:

bank cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express and local cards depending on the country;
Apple Pay and Google Pay on compatible devices;
3-D Secure strong authentication whenever the payer's bank requires it.

Online payment is the only method that allows an immediate deposit and automatic collection of the balance before arrival, on the card saved by Stripe with the guest's consent. PayPal is not among the features announced to date.

Which offline payment methods can you accept?

An offline payment is a payment you receive outside the site and then record manually in the booking: "05 Payments" tab of the booking file › "Add an offline payment" (Bank transfer, Cash, Card terminal, Cheque or Other, for example for holiday vouchers) › "Save payment", or Kraft Console › "Bookings" › "Record a payment received offline". It carries no service fee. Booking requests without online payment and manual bookings work the same way.

Bank transfer: practical for a large deposit or for business customers. Check that the money has arrived in your account before confirming.
Cheque: still common with some customers in France; allow time for posting and clearing.
Chèques-vacances: a French holiday voucher scheme. To accept them, you must be approved by the ANCV; find out more on ancv.com (consulted on 12 October 2026). This scheme applies in France only.
Cash: on arrival, with a receipt.

For an accommodation or service you do not want paid online, set the booking module without online payment: "Payment" option › "Without online payment (direct confirmation)" (Gutenberg, Elementor) or "Payment mode" › "Request to approve (no online payment)" (Divi module "DiviKraft · Finalisation").

Which combination should you choose?

Common combinations, to adapt:

All online: card deposit at booking, balance collected automatically 30 days before arrival. This is the option that needs the least follow-up.
Online, then offline: card deposit to secure the dates, balance by bank transfer or holiday vouchers before arrival.
Offline only: for regular guests who prefer bank transfer, with manual confirmation once the money arrives.

Frequently asked questions

Can I accept PayPal with GDA Kraft Booking?

PayPal is not among the features announced to date. Online payment runs through Stripe via Kraft Pay: bank card, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Other methods are settled offline and recorded manually.

Do bank transfer or cheque payments carry a service fee?

No. The service fee only applies to transactions collected online through Kraft Pay. A payment recorded manually generates none.

Can you combine online and offline payment on the same booking?

Yes. You can collect the deposit online, then record a bank transfer or a cheque for the balance in Kraft Console › "Bookings" ("Record a payment received offline"): once the total is paid, no automatic charge takes place. "Add an offline payment" in the WordPress admin also records the payment, but does not cancel a charge that is still scheduled.

Can a guest pay with a foreign card?

Yes, the Stripe payment page accepts the main international cards. The guest's bank may ask them for 3-D Secure authentication.
