Install and connect Kraft Booking on WordPress

Download the free plugin from your Kraft GDA customer area, install it on WordPress, then link your site to the Kraft GDA platform in a few clicks.

Kraft Booking is a free WordPress plugin that manages your accommodation bookings and appointments. To use it fully (planning, bookings, online payments, updates, dashboard), your site must be connected to the Kraft GDA platform. This article walks you through everything from download to connection.

Requirements

  • A WordPress site served over HTTPS (required for the connection and for payments).
  • An administrator account on that site.
  • A valid email address to create your owner account.

Step 1: install the plugin

There are two ways to install GDA Kraft Booking:

  • From WordPress (WordPress.org edition, free core): the plugin is available for free on WordPress.org. In your admin, open Plugins › Add New Plugin, search for "GDA Kraft Booking", click Install Now then Activate. No account is needed, and updates come from WordPress.org. This edition covers accommodations, rates, calendar, iCal sync, manual bookings and booking requests; it does not include appointment mode, online payment (Kraft Pay, Stripe), Kraft Console, the design modules, Kraft Fields, multilingual support or AI control. For these, keep it and add the GDA Kraft Booking Connect add-on (see below), or install the complete GDA edition instead.
  • From your customer area (complete GDA edition): it includes everything, with no add-on: Kraft Pay online payment, Kraft Console, appointment mode, design modules, Kraft Fields, multilingual support, AI control and signed updates. Follow the steps below.

Download the complete edition

  1. Sign in to your Kraft GDA customer area (create your owner account if needed) and open Downloads.
  2. On the Kraft Booking entry, click Download: you get a .zip file.
  3. This .zip file is the complete GDA edition; the version found in Plugins › Add New Plugin is the WordPress.org edition (free core) described above.

Install the zip file

Once the archive is downloaded:

  1. Open Plugins › Add New › Upload Plugin.
  2. Select the .zip file, then click Install Now.
  3. Activate the plugin once the installation is complete.

A new Kraft Booking menu appears in the left-hand column of your admin.

Add the GDA Kraft Booking Connect add-on (WordPress.org edition)

You installed the WordPress.org edition and want online payment, appointments, Kraft Console or the other Kraft GDA services? Keep it installed and active, and add the free GDA Kraft Booking Connect add-on:

  1. Open Kraft Booking › Kraft GDA and connect your site to your free Kraft GDA account (Create my free account or I already have an account), as described in step 2.
  2. On the "Your site is linked to Kraft GDA" screen, click Download the add-on: you land on Downloads, in your customer area. On the GDA Kraft Booking Connect entry, click Download.
  3. Install the .zip file with Plugins › Add New › Upload Plugin, then activate GDA Kraft Booking Connect.

The add-on brings Kraft Pay online payment (Stripe), appointment mode, Kraft Console, the design modules, Kraft Fields, multilingual support, advanced customisable emails and the AI assistant. The core keeps updating through WordPress.org; the add-on receives its signed updates from Kraft GDA, as long as the site is connected.

One edition at a time. Never install the complete GDA edition together with the WordPress.org edition: they are two independent plugins, each with its own tables, settings, menus and modules, and their data are not shared. The complete edition already contains everything Connect adds: the add-on only activates with the WordPress.org edition. To switch editions, first deactivate the other one; data are not carried over automatically.

Step 2: connect your site

The WordPress.org edition of GDA Kraft Booking (free core) works without an account: accommodations and units, rates, seasons, calendar, iCal sync, manual bookings and booking requests without online payment. The edition downloaded from the customer area is the complete edition: until the site is connected, you can create and edit your accommodations, but planning, rates, bookings and payments remain read-only.

Connecting to a free Kraft GDA account unlocks everything: planning and bookings, Kraft Pay online payment, the Kraft Console dashboard, design modules, Kraft Fields custom fields, multilingual support, appointments and AI features. This edition already includes everything: no add-on to install (on the WordPress.org edition, these features belong to the separate "GDA Kraft Booking Connect" add-on, available from Downloads in the customer area once the site is connected). No bank card is requested at sign-up.

  1. Open Kraft Booking › Kraft GDA ("Connect your site to Kraft" screen).
  2. Click the Connect my site → button (also offered on the Plugins page). You are redirected to the Kraft GDA platform, exactly as when connecting a site to Jetpack.
  3. Sign in, or choose Create an owner account (first name, last name, email, password) if you do not have one yet. A verification code is sent to you by email when you first sign up.
  4. Accept the terms of use if they are presented to you.
  5. On the "Authorize your site?" screen, check the site address, tick the acceptance of the model, then click Authorize and return to WordPress. This screen summarizes the plugin's model: free to use, a service fee on online payments (0.9%, reduced to 0.45% until 30 June 2027) and a sponsored banner in the Kraft Booking dashboard.
  6. You are automatically sent back to your WordPress, to the "Your site is linked to Kraft" screen.

You can connect several sites to the same owner account. They all appear under "My sites" in your Kraft GDA account.

What the connection gives you

Once the site is linked, the platform issues it a signed right of use (called an entitlement) that the plugin verifies locally. In practice:

Check the connection status

In Kraft Booking › Kraft GDA, cards show:

InformationMeaning
ConnectionStatus of the link with the platform (Connected, Resyncing, Disconnected) and date of the last contact.
AccountThe name and email of the linked owner.
PlanThe plan and the features included, with their validity date.
Online paymentsKraft Pay status (To activate, Verification in progress, Action required, Payments active).

If the status shows "read-only", see the dedicated article: nothing is lost, and a simple reconnection usually solves it.

In short

  1. Install the free core from Plugins › Add New Plugin (search for "GDA Kraft Booking"), or, for the complete edition, download the plugin from Downloads in your customer area, then install it with Plugins › Add New › Upload Plugin. With the WordPress.org edition, then add the GDA Kraft Booking Connect add-on (Downloads) for the Kraft GDA services, never combining the two editions.
  2. Open Kraft Booking › Kraft GDA, click Connect my site → and follow the wizard.
  3. Create or sign in to your owner account, then authorize the site.
  4. Then enable payments to start collecting money online.
