Multilingual booking website: French, English, Italian, Spanish, German

The built-in multilingual support (Kraft Lang) automatically translates your site, written in French, into English, Italian, Spanish and German, with one address per language and a language switcher.

Kraft Booking includes built-in multilingual support, Kraft Lang: your site is written in French and automatically translated into English, Italian, Spanish and German. Each language has its own address (/en/, /it/, /es/, /de/) and visitors change language with a switcher. Pages, menus, accommodations, forms and calendars are translated in the final output, with no record to duplicate.

What is translated

ElementTranslation
Pages, menus, accommodation pages, blogYes, on the /en/, /it/, /es/, /de/ addresses
Booking and appointment forms, calendar, searchYes, along with the rest of the page
Titles and descriptions for search enginesYes
Emails sent to guestsNo: a single text per email, sent in the site's language
WordPress and Kraft Booking adminThe language chosen for your account (see below)

A text that does not have a translation yet is displayed in French: review the translations regularly (see below).

How to enable the languages

  1. Open Kraft Booking › Settings, “Site and admin languages” section.
  2. In “Languages offered to visitors”, tick the languages to show in the switcher: English, Italian, Spanish, German. French, the original language, is always active.
  3. If needed, choose “On the first visit, open the site in the browser's language” (off by default) and “Remember the language chosen by the visitor”.
  4. Click “Save languages”.

If this section shows “Multilingual disabled”, enable the “Multilingual” module in Kraft Booking › Modules.

How the language is chosen

  • The language follows the address: /en/ for English, /it/ for Italian, /es/ for Spanish, /de/ for German, no prefix for French.
  • Visitors change language with the switcher: the Divi module “Kraft Lang — Sélecteur de langue” (language switcher) or the [kraft_lang_switcher] shortcode, to place for example in the header.
  • If you ticked “Remember the language chosen by the visitor”, a visitor who comes back to the home page finds their language again.

There is no language option in the modules, blocks or widgets, and no per-language tab in the records: the whole page is translated according to its address.

Reviewing and correcting translations

Translations are reviewed in Kraft Console › “Translations”: for each page (and for the header, the footer, the module texts and the SEO), you see the French text, its translation and its status (“To translate”, “Automatic”, “Reviewed”). Correct a translation, then open the page in the language concerned to check it.

Availability, rates and bookings remain shared across all languages: there is only one calendar per unit.

Emails

Emails to guests (Settings › “Email design and content”) have a single text, with no per-language tab, and are sent in the site's language. If you welcome international guests, write your custom texts so that they remain understandable, for example with a short sentence in English. See How do I customise booking emails?.

The admin language

In the same section, “Admin language” chooses your display language in WordPress and Kraft Booking; this setting is specific to your account. Translations of the Kraft Booking admin are being added as new versions come out.

Customising texts

  • Plugin labels: Settings › “Texts and labels” replaces one text with another (for example “Guests” → “People”); the replacement applies on the site, in the forms, the emails and the customer area.
  • Formats: dates and amounts are displayed according to the conventions of the page's language.

Multilingual plugins

Kraft Booking does not include a dedicated integration with WPML, Polylang, TranslatePress or Weglot: the multilingual support provided is Kraft Lang. Avoid running two translation systems at the same time.

Key points

  • A site written in French, automatically translated into English, Italian, Spanish and German, one address per language.
  • Languages to tick in Settings › “Site and admin languages”; switcher via the Divi module or [kraft_lang_switcher].
  • Translations to review in Kraft Console › “Translations”; an untranslated text stays in French.
  • Emails have a single text, in the site's language.
