Kraft Console, the front-end dashboard: how do you set it up?

Kraft Console is a management area on your own site, reserved for administrators and the “Manager” role: arrivals, bookings, schedule, clients, messaging, invoices, rates and content.

Kraft Console is the front-end dashboard of GDA Kraft Booking: a page on your own website, accessible only to administrators and to accounts with the “Manager” (Gérante) role, that shows arrivals and departures, bookings, the schedule, clients, messaging, invoices and revenue. It lets a manager follow the activity without going into the WordPress admin. Setting it up takes two steps: a page with the Kraft Console module, then a “Manager” account.

What is a front-end dashboard?

A front-end dashboard is a management page displayed on your site, rather than in the WordPress admin. It shows only what the person needs, which makes the work simpler and limits the risk of mistakes. Kraft Console is displayed full screen, without the site's header or footer.

Kraft Console is included in the edition downloaded from your Kraft GDA customer area (free account, no bank card required): no add-on to install. It corresponds to the “Management dashboard” module in Kraft Booking › Modules, active by default (see Install and connect Kraft Booking and /en/inscription). GDA Kraft Booking is published by Global Digital Agency.

Kraft Console is designed for managing accommodations: appointments are managed in the admin, under the Kraft Booking › Appointments menu.

How do you set up Kraft Console?

  1. Create a page, for example “Gestion” at the address /gestion/ (the address used by default in the console's emails).
  2. Insert the Divi 5 module “Kraft Console — Tableau de bord” (dashboard) on this page (or the [kraft_console] shortcode). Kraft Console relies on Divi 5: there is no Kraft Console Gutenberg block or Elementor widget.
  3. Create the manager's account: in WordPress, Users › Add New User, “Manager” role, with the “Send User Notification” box ticked. They receive a welcome email with a link, valid for 24 hours, to choose their password.
  4. Test: the manager logs in on the console page with their email address; in a private browsing window, a visitor only sees the login screen.

Which role for which person?

ProfileAccess
Owner, site administratorAdministrator role: the console and the whole WordPress admin
Manager, assistant, front desk“Manager” role: the console only; they are sent back to the console if they try to open the admin

There is no “staff member” role in Kraft Console. For an appointments team, see How do you manage the schedule of a team with several staff members?.

How do you use it day to day?

Example routines, to adapt:

  • Every morning: check arrivals and departures, alert the cleaning team, check payments to follow up before an upcoming arrival, reply to unread messages.
  • Every week: check that no iCal calendar is in error and read through the guestbook messages.
  • At the end of the month: check the month's revenue, then the exports in the admin for your accountant.

For advanced configuration (rate plans, seasons, settings), the Kraft Booking admin remains the reference tool.

How do you secure access?

Kraft Console displays your clients' personal data: treat it as a front door.

  • One account per person, never a shared account, with a strong password.
  • The most restricted role possible: a manager does not need the Administrator role.
  • When someone leaves: delete or deactivate their account the same day.
  • Search engines and cache: the plugin excludes the console page from indexing and caching; still remove it from your public menus.
  • Shared devices: on a shared tablet, log out at the end of the day. After several failed login attempts, logging in is blocked for a few minutes.

These measures are part of your obligations as data controller; see GDPR and personal data.

How do you make it look right?

Kraft Console has its own layout, full screen and adapted to phones: all you need is a page that contains only the module. The “Brand identity” section (name, logos, contact details, social networks) is reflected across the whole site. Layout tips for the other pages are in How do you add a booking module in Divi 5?, How do you add a booking widget in Elementor? and How do you add a booking block in Gutenberg?.

Frequently asked questions

Does Kraft Console replace the WordPress admin?

For day-to-day monitoring, yes: bookings, schedule, clients, messages, invoices, rates and content. Advanced configuration and appointments stay in the admin.

Can a staff member see their schedule in Kraft Console?

No. Kraft Console is reserved for administrators and the “Manager” role. Appointments are followed in Kraft Booking › Appointments.

Do I have to pay for Kraft Console?

No. GDA Kraft Booking is free, with no Pro version; only online payments carry a service fee of 0.9%, reduced to 0.45% until 30 June 2027. See Pricing.

What does a visitor who lands on the page see?

Only the console's login screen. An account without the “Manager” role or administrator rights gets the message “This account does not have access to the management console.” and sees no data.
